Province guide
Ontario's casino hotels, reviewed
Last revised · facts verified
Ontario is where Canada's casino hotels cluster, and they come in every flavour. Niagara stacks its rooms above the falls; Windsor stares across the water at Detroit; Toronto's newest sits beside a racetrack; Ottawa has a Hard Rock that turns away anyone under 19; and near Orillia there's a resort in cottage country. Province-wide, OLG runs the casinos, the AGCO regulates them, and the door age is 19.

Fallsview Casino Resort
Fallsview is the image most Canadians have of a casino hotel, and on paper it earns it. The resort lists 372 rooms oriented toward the falls, a gaming floor where 3,200-plus slots share space with 110 tables, a pair of theatres (the bigger one, the OLG Stage, seats 5,000) and upwards of twenty places to eat and drink. Nowhere else in Canada stacks this much into a single building beside a view like that.
Caesars Windsor
Caesars Windsor beats every other resort in this guide on size, with 758 rooms in two towers, and most of them face the Detroit skyline over the river. The Colosseum seats 5,000 within 225 feet of the stage, the casino counts 2,000-plus slots and upward of 80 tables, and you're in the middle of downtown rather than out by a highway.
Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto
The resort that replaced Casino Woodbine opened in 2023 right beside the racetrack, and it's built big: 400 rooms, a 5,000-capacity theatre, a pool with sauna and steam, free parking and a free shuttle from Pearson. Its operator says no Canadian casino has more slot machines.
Casino Rama Resort
Gateway is midway through rebuilding Casino Rama, on Rama First Nation land near Orillia: new-look rooms since 2025, a ground-floor spa, and three fresh restaurants led by Atlas Steak and Fish. The constant is the Entertainment Centre, whose 5,000-plus seats keep pulling GTA drivers up Highway 400.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa
Hard Rock's first fully integrated resort in the country welcomed its first guests on July 3, 2025, which makes it the youngest casino hotel we review. Expect 150 rooms (22 are suites), a casino with 1,500-plus slots that never closes, a Council Oak steakhouse and Hard Rock LIVE, with room for 2,200. Guests must be 19 or older everywhere, the hotel included.
More Ontario casino hotels, reviews coming
Two more Ontario properties are waiting for a full review. Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel, near Port Perry, completed its hotel in November 2021, and Pickering Casino Resort, east of Toronto, added 275 rooms in January 2023. Until we get to them, both are listed on our new openings page.
