Fallsview Casino Resort: our review

Last revised · facts verified

Fallsview is the image most Canadians have of a casino hotel, and on paper it earns it. The resort lists 372 rooms oriented toward the falls, a gaming floor where 3,200-plus slots share space with 110 tables, a pair of theatres (the bigger one, the OLG Stage, seats 5,000) and upwards of twenty places to eat and drink. Nowhere else in Canada stacks this much into a single building beside a view like that.

Go if: You want the falls outside the window, a big-name show downstairs and a casino you never have to drive to.
Think twice if: Your plan hinges on a buffet, or your under-12s want to swim unsupervised.

Why Fallsview sits at number one

Plenty of Canadian casinos have a hotel attached. At Fallsview the hotel is the headline act: the resort says each of its 372 rooms and suites was laid out with the water in mind, so windows look at Horseshoe Falls, at the American Falls, out over the city, or at some combination. Downstairs the gaming floor spreads across 200,000 sq ft, holding 3,200-plus slots and 110 tables. Add two theatres and upwards of twenty places to eat and drink, and a full weekend fits inside one building.

Getting the view you're paying for

Here's the catch the resort's own FAQ admits: a falls-facing room might show you both cataracts, or only one of them. So if the view matters, book the category deliberately and get it confirmed in writing. Deluxe rooms come in three outlooks (Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, the city) and three bed configurations (a single king, a pair of queens, or two doubles). Each has a seating corner with a writing desk, along with a coffee maker, safe, iron and hairdryer.

Five suite tiers sit above that. The Diplomat follows the tower's curved outer wall, giving panoramic falls or city views plus a whirlpool tub. The Parlour looks onto the American Falls and throws in a sofa bed and a second TV. The Executive has its own bedroom with a partial falls view. Ambassador and Premier suites face the falls with a bedroom of their own, and the Premier goes furthest, with complete living and dining spaces and an extra-large bathroom.

Rooms are ready at 4 pm, and the key goes back by 11 am. Room service takes orders in two windows: breakfast between 7 and 11, evenings between 6 and 11.

Gaming and rewards

Entry to the floor is 19+, ID in hand, and the resort is explicit that strollers and babes in arms stay off it. Infinity Bar pours on the floor itself, 9 am through 1:50 am. The loyalty card is Mohegan's Momentum: you start free at Core, then move through Ignite, Leap, Ascend and finally Soar. Reaching Ignite earns free casino parking, which is worth more here than at most resorts, since non-members pay a daily rate the resort sets.

The show side

Entertainment is where Fallsview pulls clear of most rivals. The 5,000-capacity OLG Stage keeps every seat inside 150 feet of the performers, and the resort quotes a Billboard ranking naming it Canada's top venue in the 2,501 to 5,000 seat bracket. Its smaller sibling, the 1,559-seat Avalon Theatre, keeps everyone within 100 feet. Across both rooms the resort advertises upwards of 320 performances each year. A December idea: Niagara Falls Tourism lists Christmas On Ice at the Avalon between November 26 and December 20, 2026, a run of 32 performances in the show's 14th season.

Restaurants

Start with the two restaurants whose pages show OpenTable's "Top 50 Hotel Restaurants 2026" badge: 21 Club Steak & Seafood, the resort's flagship, and Ponte Vecchio, its Italian dining room. Lighter options include Cantonese at Golden Lotus, The Falls Deli, the Noodle Bar and the Sushi & Oyster Bar, plus Bar Barista, coffee house by day and cocktail bar by night. The Galleria strip adds Vittorio's, Lucky's, Paramount Fine Foods, Shoeless Joe's and a Niagara Brewing Company taproom. Two gaps: no buffet runs at present, and the Dragonfly nightclub is shutting after almost twenty years, with an unnamed replacement promised.

Pool, gym, spa

Swimming is indoors, 7 am until 10 pm, with a day key, and kids under 12 need a parent in the water area with them. The workout room opens at 7 too but closes earlier, at 9 pm. Massages and treatments are handled by Damara Day Spa; a tourism ticketing page shows a relaxation massage there for $158.

Travel and parking

The resort puts Toronto at an hour and a half's drive and Buffalo at 45 minutes; Pearson airport is around 125 km off. On weekends and holidays you can ride GO trains out of Union Station to Niagara Falls. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and show days, a complimentary shuttle loops between Fallsview and Casino Niagara every half hour, 4 pm until 12:45 am. The garage takes over 3,000 vehicles and offers ten EV chargers, split four on P1 and six on P5. Pets aren't allowed, except certified service animals.

Our take

Choose one casino hotel in Canada and Fallsview is the safe bet, as long as you pay for a view instead of taking whatever room is cheapest. Lock in a falls-facing category, plan your dates around the show schedule, and if you're driving, enrol in Momentum before arrival so the parking charge doesn't catch you out.

Before you book: common questions

Do all rooms at Fallsview face the falls?

No. Depending on the category, a room looks at Horseshoe Falls, at the American Falls or over the city, and the resort's FAQ says some falls rooms see both cataracts and others only one. Book a falls-view category and have it confirmed.

Does Fallsview run a buffet?

Not currently; its dining page says there is no buffet operating at present.

Can we bring children to Fallsview?

Yes, children can stay. The gaming floor is 19+, and under-12s must have a parent with them at the pool.
