Canada's casino resorts: independent reviews and our 2026 top 10

Think of this as a scouting report. For every Canadian casino hotel worth a night, we look at six things a guest actually lives with: the room, the gaming floor, the kitchen, the stage, the pool and the trip in. Numbers come straight from the property's own site or from a source we cite by name, and each review carries the date it was last checked.

How the marks work

We weigh six things. The room and its view carry the most weight, the gaming floor and the restaurants come next, and shows, pool and spa, and ease of access follow. Facts are taken from each hotel's own website or from a source we name. See the whole method.

Before you book: common questions

So which Canadian casino hotel comes out on top?

Our ranking puts Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls first. Its 372 rooms are designed around the falls, its casino has 110 tables and 3,200-plus slots, its OLG Stage seats 5,000, and you can choose from upwards of twenty restaurants and bars.

Which Canadian casino hotel opened most recently?

That would be the Hard Rock in Ottawa: 150 rooms, welcoming guests since July 3, 2025. Before it came the hotel at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, whose doors opened on August 1, 2023.

How old must you be to enter a casino in Canada?

Depends where you are. Alberta, Manitoba and Québec admit players at 18; Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick and most other provinces hold the line at 19.

Can children come along to a casino hotel?

Usually yes. The age line is drawn around the gaming floor and a handful of bars and venues, not the whole building. The big exception is Hard Rock Ottawa, where nobody under 19 gets past the front door, hotel included.
