Province guide
British Columbia's casino hotels, reviewed

B.C. splits the job two ways: BCLC manages the casinos, and the Independent Gambling Control Office keeps watch over them. The age is 19, and the province is firm about ID. Since June 2023 every guest has been asked for government photo ID at the door, and the card is then checked against the restricted-entry list. Our two Lower Mainland reviews sit at opposite ends of the scale.

River Rock Casino Resort
If you're arriving by plane and don't want a car, River Rock is the answer: its Canada Line station is next door, with YVR seven minutes up the line and downtown Vancouver eighteen. Behind that are 396 rooms (some of the suites are genuinely large), the first Gordon Ramsay Steak in Canada, a water-slide pool and a riverfront marina.
Cascades Casino Resort
Cascades is Gateway's casino in Langley City, with the 77-room Coast hotel beside it. Come for the steak at ATLAS, round-the-clock gaming and free parking; don't come for a pool or a theatre, because there's neither.
