Go if: Maritime road trips with a dog in the back seat and Hopewell Rocks on the itinerary.
Think twice if: You want room service, or more than two on-site places to eat.

The Maritimes' casino hotel

Opened in 2010, Casino New Brunswick brought a casino, a hotel and an entertainment centre together under one roof in Moncton. It's operated by Great Canadian Entertainment and, for Atlantic Canada, it's the casino hotel worth knowing about.

Rooms with space to spare

These 126 rooms and suites are bigger than you'd expect at a casino hotel. The Deluxe King begins at 440 sq ft and the Deluxe Two Queen at 490, each with high ceilings, walk-in showers, 300-thread-count sheets, windows you can open, and a view of either the city or the mountain. Suites scale up from the Studio Suite (590 sq ft) to the Luxury Suite (795), topped by the fifth-floor Marquis Suite with its own balcony and two bathrooms.

Reservations and check-in are for guests 19 and older; children can share the room but must stay out of 19+ areas. Arrival is 4 pm, departure 11 am. For now, there's no room service.

Casino

At the tables: roulette, craps, I Luv Suits, baccarat and blackjack. Poker happens in a private room called "the Lighthouse", open Thursday through Saturday evenings. Fresh slot titles arrived in December 2025 and again in March 2026. Rewards Club membership is free and earns you money off at the buffet and the gift shop.

Dining and concerts

Options are few. The Buffet opens Wednesday through Saturday, featuring Ribs & Wings each Thursday and AA Prime Rib each Friday, with members paying a few dollars less; the Hub City Pub is on the casino floor. Both are 19+. For concerts, the Molson Canadian Centre is right on site.

Pool, gym, pets

The hotel has a pool and a gym, where under-12s need supervision. Bring up to two cats or dogs, 50 lbs or less each, for $40 per night; they're not allowed in the pool, the gym or the restaurants. Parking is free, though the desk will want your car's make, model and licence plate when you arrive.

Out and about

The hotel's suggestions include Magnetic Hill and its zoo, Tidal Bore Park, TreeGO and the Capitol Theatre. On the Bay of Fundy, Hopewell Rocks is within day-trip distance.

Our take

With large rooms, a pool and a pet-friendly policy, it's a great stop on a Maritime road trip. Just plan to eat in town at least once, since dining on site is limited.
